Introduction to Paddling

Meeting at Explore Highland Office at Clachnaharry Works Lock, we meet and discuss the day over a social cuppa. Once all welcomed and introduced, we spend half an hour looking over a variety of boats, paddles, and other paddling accessories that will be used over the day.

After getting changed, the rest of the day is spent on and off the Caledonian Canal, learning some paddling basics in three 90minute sessions using three different craft. These include open canoes, sit on top kayaks and stand up paddleboards. We will never be too far from the office and hot and cold drinks will be available throughout the day as required.

Before finishing the group can choose their preferred craft and head back out on the water for a final paddle
