Great Glen Canoe Trail – by Sea Kayak (4 days)

The Great Glen Canoe Trail is now Scotland’s first formal Canoe Trail. Following the Caledonian Canal route from Fort William in the west to Inverness in the east, this sixty mile challenge has undergone development over the last few years due to the popularity of this fantastic canoe and sea kayak route.

Duration
Four days (including three nights wild camping by the side of the lochs)

Meeting Point
Meeting in Inverness at 9am, or Banavie, Fort William at approx 12 noon.

Things to Remember
Please bring along the following items;

  • Appropriate footwear for river use & campsite
  • Waterproof jacket and trousers
  • Sleeping bag, roll mat & towel
  • Maybe shades and suntan cream
  • Few changes of clothes
  • Midgy net and spray
  • A hat or cap
  • Lunch for Day 1
  • Some spending money for extra snacks or souveneirs
  • Waterproof phone/camera case if taking on trip

What we Supply
We will supply the following items;

  • Signed copy of the Great Glen Canoe Trail Guidebook posted when booked
  • Local friendly sea kayak guided/coach for this adventure
  • P&H Scorpio sea kayak, lendal split paddle & portage trolley
  • Appropriate sized buoyancy aid & cagoule
  • Two person tent
  • Plate, bowl, cup and cutlery
  • All cooking equipment including stove(s), pans, kettle and gas
  • All food (except day 1 lunch)
  • Wild camping toilet bag
  • Tarps & kelly kettle
  • Shuttle on day 1 from Inverness to Fort William

Group Size
Minimum two paddlers/ maximum six paddlers
