Highland Photography Trip (9 hours)

  •  12/08/2018
     9:00 am - 6:00 pm

Meeting at Explore Highland office, we’ll look at the wind/weather forecast and decide as a group on the best canoe photography location for the day. Options to include Loch Maree & Loch Beinn a Mheadhoin.

Loch Beinn a Mheadhoin

Transport from Explore Highland is offered so the group can meet, chat and discuss photography experience and hopes for the day. All will receive a safety brief & a few paddling pointers before launching onto the water as a group. This is a lead trip and as such there will be a degree of freedom to get the shot of the day, however, your guide will keep the group moving as and when needed to reach the main focal points of the trip.

We supply:

  • transport from Explore Highland office to/back from paddling destination
  • a tandem open canoe, a personal buoyancy aid (PFD) and a suitably sized canoe paddle
  • a 10-litre & 60-litre dry bag per person for spare clothes, lunch & camera gear
  • approx five-six hours on the water guided/coached adventure
  • tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival, lunch and debrief back at the office.

What you need to bring: When paddling, you should expect to be prepared for the outdoors and the Highland weather. The weather can be unpredictable so its best to be prepared for the worst so you enjoy. Please bring suitable outdoor clothing to keep you warm for your time out on the water. We recommend bring along;

  • a waterproof jacket and trousers
  • fleece jumper base layer
  • a hat or cap to keep the head warm
  • old footwear/trainers/wellies that you don’t mind getting wet/splashed
  • complete change of clothes for afterward( in case you take an accidental swim)
  • lunch, flask, water or juice for the day

  • own photography gear, which may include drones for when landed on various islands.
