River Spey Canoe Expedition (4 days)

Our River Spey Canoe Expedition is one of the UK’s ‘Classic Descents’ that all canoeists have on their must do list. This canoe expedition is a true source to sea journey, launching high up in the Cairngorm Mountains by Loch Inch, Kincraig and follow the river to Spey Bay on the east coast of Scotland.

Duration
Four days (including three nights wild camping by the river banks)

Meeting Point
Meeting in Inverness at 8.45am, or Spey Bay at approx 10am

Things to Remember
Please bring along the following items;

  • Appropriate footwear for river use & campsite
  • Waterproof jacket and trousers
  • Sleeping bag, roll mat & towel
  • Maybe shades and suntan cream
  • Few changes of clothes
  • Midgy net and spray
  • A hat or cap
  • Lunch for Day 1
  • Some spending money for extra snacks or souveneirs
  • Waterproof phone/camera case if taking on trip

What we Supply
We will supply the following items;

  • Local friendly canoe guided/coach for this adventure
  • Outfitted expedition prospector tandem canoe
  • Appropriate sized buoyancy aid, cagoule & helmet
  • Appropriate sized paddle & 60 ltr dry bag for your kit
  • Two person tent
  • Plate, bowl, cup and cutlery
  • All cooking equipment including stove(s), pans, kettle and gas
  • All food (except day 1 lunch)
  • Wild camping toilet bag
  • Tarps & kelly kettle
  • Shuttle on day 1 from Spey Bay to Kincraig
  • Transport from Inverness to Spey Bay return in required

Group Size
Minimum two paddlers/ maximum eight paddlers

Age Restrictions
This activity is suitable for 12-18 yo’s when accompanied by a parent or guardian on the water.
