SUP Skye (3 days)

Join Donald on this three-day Isle of Skye paddleboarding adventure.

Day 1:

Meeting in Inverness, the group informally meet and ensure everyone has all the kit listed required. We review the weather and discuss the various options to make the best off the trip. Discuss tide times, wind direction and options of the three-day trip, three single day trips or a combination to see the best sights including any requests from the group. Once the minibus & trailer is loaded with all personal drybags, boards, and paddles, we head off west.

Day 2:

The adventure continues…

Day 3:

After a final paddle, the adventure looks at finishing on the Isle of Skye around 3.00pm. With a stop off at a local cafe for coffee and cake, we head back to Inverness to dekit and wrap up the trip for between 5-6pm.

• Eilean Donan (Loch Duich)
• Armadale to point of Sleat
• Elgol to Loch Coruisk
• Brogaig to Kilt Rock
• Harlosh to MacLeod’s Maidens
• Loch Dunvegan
• Loch Portree

EH supplies: 

• tea/coffee when meeting and return to the EH office
• transport from Inverness to Isle of Skye with minibus support throughout
• suitable paddleboard, paddle & buoyancy aids
• full body wetsuit and wetsuit shoes (please request by email when booked if required)
• 60ltr, 10 ltr and 30ltr dry bags for kit
• tent, roll mat, torch, cooking equipment & toilet bag (please request by email when booked if required)
• coffee/tea/packet soup, milk, stove and kettle for group drinks
• three days of paddleboard guiding/coaching
• copies of photos taken by your guide during the adventure

What you need to bring:

We recommend bring along;

• your own warm paddling and camp clothing
• waterproof trousers & jacket
• suitable footwear for paddling and camp
• Hat, cap & gloves
• Tent, camping & cooking gear if you have your own
• Flask for hot drinks and water bottle
• spare clothing & compact sleeping bag in a compression sack
• personal toiletries, midgy spray & suntan lotion
• food for 3x lunches, 2x dinners & 2x breakfasts
• any medication you may require

Group Size: Max 6 adults

Age: This trip is suitable for adults only

Duration: Three days paddling/ two nights wild camping. If weather too bad to link days, EH will cover the cost of commercial campsites.

Experience: Some paddleboarding experience is required for this adventure. Each day your skills will improve with the different paddling environments but locations will be chosen around group skill and weather.

Payment: Booking online requires full payment at the time of purchase. If you wish to spread your payments, you can email to be invoiced. Invoice ask for 25% deposit, with the outstanding balance paid 28 days in advance of booking date. BACS payment is free of charge.

Meeting Time: 9.00am – Wednesday 31st July

Meet Location: Explore Highland Office, Clachnaharry Works Lock, Inverness, IV3 8RA. Free parking and toilet available onsite

Finish Time: Approx. 5.00 -6.00pm – Friday 2nd August

Craft: Touring paddleboards. Welcome to use your own if 12’6 or larger.

Personal Belongings: Camera’s, phones, car keys, and other personal belongings are taken out on the water at your own risk.
